Born in Caracas, Venezuela, Carolina Herrera began her career in fashion after creating a collection as “a test” in 1980. After receiving a positive reaction, the 2004 CFDA “Womenswear Designer of the Year” moved with her family to New York from Caracas in 1981 and formed Carolina Herrera, Ltd.
